Sadio Mane showed his true personality with Mohamed Salah at AFCON 2021, didn’t he? He just couldn’t be more classy as a guy.
The Liverpool and Senegal forward was captured reaching out to a crying Mohamed Salah after the Lions of Teranga had beat Egypt to become champions in Yaoundé.
It was easy to see that Mane was passing words of comfort but there is nothing like hearing from the man himself. What did he actually say to Salah?
“I told him that he remains a very great player and it’s a pleasure to play for the same club,” he told beIN SPORTS.
“I have so much respect for him and he gave everything for his country. Unfortunately, he didn’t win, but that doesn’t mean it’s over for him.
“I also told him that he still has many things to win, including the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. They have a young team so maybe they will win it one day,” the 29-year-old Mane said.
Meanwhile, Senegal are now looking ahead to the final 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers play-offs against Egypt.
